Jeje Lalpekhlua has stressed that the players aren’t feeling pressurized given that Dempo SC have remained winless from their four matches in the I-League 2013-14 season.
The Golden Eagles suffered an opening day defeat at the hands of Shillong Lajong FC who scored three goals against the Goan giants. Thereafter they drew their next three matches against Mumbai FC, Rangdajied United and Salgaocar FC.
"There's absolutely no pressure at Dempo. The entire staff and players are working hard. Our aim is to win the title. We have to improve. Hopefully, we can win the next match and it will get better from there," Jeje insisted.
"One goal can change everything. If you get one chance or many, it depends on how you work towards making the most of it and scoring," he added.
The Mizoram striker also stated the significant role that the club's fans can play in a bid to lead the club towards a successful season.
"We (Dempo) need a lot of support from our fans. If they are not with us, we cannot go alone. We can go far with their support. In the match against Salgaocar, I think there were a lot of [Dempo] supporters and I want to say 'thanks' to them. From the next match also I hope we will see more and more (supporters). I promise to bring success to Dempo," he assured.
The 22-year-old preferred not to set any targets for himself but mentioned of the importance to win as a unit at the end of the season.
"Not that I can't score goals for myself, but I give my 100 percent...more than 100 per cent for my club. Results are more important than goals. It's all about team-work and the entire team wins. The most important thing is to win the match. If you win the match, it doesn't matter who scores. Sometimes you can pass the ball and your team-mate can score," he said.
