Juventus and Schalke to meet over Draxler
The Bianconeri are keen to secure the signature of the teenage midfielder as his stock continues to rise
EXCLUSIVEBy Roman Agresti
Juventus and Schalke will meet to discuss a move for highly-rated playmaker Julian Draxler, Goal.com understands.
The midfielder, tipped by many to be Germany's most talented player of his generation, has caught the eye of many of Europe's top clubs this season, and the Turin giants feel he is the exactly the player they need to add a new dimension to their side.
Although the midfield is seen as the strongest area of the Bianconeri's squad, with Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Claudio Marchisio combining to great effect, they are still looking to add youth and creativity to the middle of the park.
Draxler has claimed to be a big fan of La Liga, which could work against Juventus' pursuit of him, but the appeal of playing for Italy's leading club will be a compelling proposition for the teenager.
So far this season he has made 23 Bundesliga appearances, scoring a respectable seven goals in the process.
