Inter to open Cirigliano talks with River
The Nerazzurri have long admired the 21-year-old and are set to start negotiations with the Argentine side over a move to Serie A
EXCLUSIVEBy Fabrizio Romano
Inter are set to begin discussions with River Plate over the transfer of Ezequiel Cirigliano, Goal.com can exclusively reveal.
The Serie A outfit have tracked the 21-year-old for a number of months and make River an offer of around €7 million for the midfielder.
It is understood that River president Daniel Passarella has an excellent relationship with his Nerazzurri counterpart Massimo Moratti, which could be the key to sealing the switch for Cirigliano.
Inter first made contact with the Buenos Aires giants in January 2012 over a move for the player, but were put off by River’s €10m valuation of him.
However, the San Siro outfit have no intention of including fellow Argentine Ricky Alvarez as a make-weight in the deal, despite his poor form since his move from Velez Sarsfield at the start of last season.
Inter are currently sixth in Serie A after taking 47 points from 28 games and were knocked out of the Europa League by Tottenham.
Cirigliano made his professional debut in 2010 and has made over 50 league appearances since.
