Goal.com lists down some of the names from India who voted during the Ballon d'Or awards as the world saw Lionel Messi pick up the title for a record fourth time.

Lionel Messi has won his fourth Ballon d’Or title, scooping the prestigious individual award over runner-up Cristiano Ronaldo and third-place team-mate Andres Iniesta.

Radamel Falcao finished up in fifth, behind another Barcelona stalwart, Xavi, while Iker Casillas came in at sixth.

Andrea Pirlo, Didier Drogba, Robin van Persie and Zlatan Ibrahimovic made up a star-studded final top 10 for the calendar year of 2012.

After the awards ceremony, Fifa has released an intriguing list of the full votes for the award, which is decided based on decisions made by international coaches, captains and a selection of media representatives from each member nation.

The voting list reveals some decisions that would raise few eyebrows, but other ones that can be considered as particularly surprising.

Indian national team captain Sunil Chhetri, who currently plays for Sporting Lisbon 'B' side in Portugal, gave his top vote to Barcelona's Andres Iniesta ahead of eventual winner Lionel Messi and Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo.

Chhetri's coach Wim Koevermans echoed his captain's sentiments as he too felt Iniesta deserved the award more than Messi and Ronaldo.

It seemed that none from the Indian contingent felt that Messi or Ronaldo warranted a top vote this year as the media representative from India, Dhiman Sarkar gave his backing to Juventus and Italy maestro Andrea Pirlo followed by Messi and Ronaldo.

At length though, it was the little Argentine who came out on top as he proved once again just why he is considered the best player in the world at the moment.
