Cristiano Ronaldo will certainly have a hoard of Indian fans rooting for him as it has emerged that the Real Madrid and Portuguese international is the most searched for football star on search engine Google by Indian netizens. He was joined by Brazil as the most 'googled' country amongst the subcontinent fans.
Ronaldo, 29, holds a lead over Argentinian and fellow La Liga star Lionel Messi in second Brazil superstar Neymar occupied the third spot while Manchester United forward and England international Wayne Rooney and Chelsea’s Spanish striker Fernando Torres were fourth and fifth respectively.
With the World Cup expected to kick-off in just under a week’s time and with over a billion people expected to watch the month long tourney, Indian fan support online is generating quite a bit of decibel.
Brazil has been a staple favourite amongst the Indian fans and with them hosting the World Cup which has seen them being kept a tight watch on.
