The Estadio Beira-Rio is located in Porto Alegre next to the Guaiba River.
The ground is currently undergoing extensive modernisation ahead of World Cup 2014 with the stadium's owners, Internacional, funding the renovation. The main feature of the project is the installation of an innovative metal roof to cover stands, turnstile areas and ramps.
