Argentina frontman Sergio Aguero has shared his thoughts on the national side's 2-1 win over Colombia, stating that the victory provides a "new stage" for the team.
After Colombia took the lead just before halftime through Dorlan Pabon's free kick being deflected by Javier Mascherano, Argentina drew level through Lionel Messi in the second half.
Sergio Aguero then provided a late winner for Argentina in the Colombian city of Barranquilla.
"Today we begin a new stage," Aguero said, according to Ole. "We must go slowly, but we gained a very important victory in the heat and humidity."
Despite Argentina needing a second-half comeback to claim the victory over Colombia, Alejandro Sabella's men have got their World Cup qualifying campaign back on track, with the Manchester City praising the talent in the squad.
"In the first half we played well, but in the second, with my introduction, we attacked further," he said. "We have plenty of quality, but it was also important for us to fight back and show our attitude."
After a disappointing 1-1 draw with Bolivia on Friday in Buenos Aires, the win over Colombia now puts the Albiceleste level on seven points with Uruguay in World Cup qualifying, although the 2011 Copa America champions have a game in hand.
