Fit-again Ribery hints at Bayern return against Frankfurt

The Frenchman, who has not featured for the Bavarians this year yet, believes he is now ready to make his comeback from a muscular problem

Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has hinted that he could feature for the first time since missing out on the Ballon d'Or in this Sunday's Bundesliga meeting with Eintracht Frankfurt.

The France international, who has been sidelined with a muscular problem this year, returned to training on Thursday ahead of the game at the Allianz Arena, which could see Pep Guardiola's men extend their 13-point lead at the top of the table.

Ribery - who on Thursday was acquitted on charges of soliciting an underage prostitute, along with Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema - has not made a competitive appearance in 2014.

"I hope that I can play on Sunday against Frankfurt," the 30-year-old told Bild. "I have been absent [for so long] because we did not want to take any risks."

Ribery last played a Bundesliga match on December 14, but he did help the European champions to victory in the Club World Cup at the tail end of 2013.
