The club icon has insisted that the treble-winners cannot afford to relax after last year's success and has urged them to keep their feet on the ground
The Allianz Arena side finished last term with a 25-point lead over BVB, but Hoeness has warned his team that they cannot afford to sit down and relax.
"I don't think the new season will be as one-sided as many people fear it will be," the Bayern president told Bild.
"Dortmund will again be our main rival in the race for the league title. They will keep on going right until the end and that's the role that suits them best. If we relax, we risk losing. I don't fear that will happen, though.
"If a team wins three trophies, it tends to sit back a bit and relax. Our biggest challenge will be to make sure that doesn't happen.
"There's a risk of complacency when you reach the top. We must not let our success get to us. Complacency is our biggest opponent."
Bayern lock horns with Dortmund on Saturday as both teams fight it out for the German Supercup.
