The BVB supremo has given a harsh response to the critique of his former defender regarding the club's handling of the 21-year-oldBorussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has reacted angrily to departing defender Felipe Santana's comments about coach Jurgen Klopp's handling of Mario Gotze, saying the Brazil centre-back "lacks the intelligence" to assess the situation.
Santana, who will join BVB's fierce rivals Schalke on July 1, had previously called Klopp "stupid" for allowing an "injured" Gotze to train prior to the Champions League final against Bayern Munich.
Watzke, however, is convinced that Santana does not understand the situation and is fuming that the Schalke-bound Santana has got involved.
"Based on his intelligence, he [Santana] isn't even remotely capable of assessing the situation," the BVB chief told Kicker.
Gotze, 21, will represent Bayern Munich next term as the club have agreed a €37 million fee, but is likely to miss the beginning of the new season under incoming coach Pep Guardiola.
