The Germany international feels he's not on par with the Barcelona star just yet and is desperate to win more silverware with BayernThomas Muller remains humble following his fine performances for Bayern Munich this season and has stressed that he is not on the same level as Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
The Germany international netted as many goals as the Barcelona star this Champions League campaign, but he has insisted that does not mean he's on par with the Argentine, despite Jupp Heynckes' suggestions that he is a front-runner for the Ballon d'Or.
"That I scored as many Champions League goals as him does not make me as good as Messi," Muller was quoted as saying by Bild. "I'm just pleased to see that having the qualities I possess is enough to be successful in the Champions League.
"I am not one to crave the attention, though. I just want to win titles with the team."
Muller won a historic treble with Bayern this term and he is hopeful that they will win even more silverware in the years to come.
"We have been very successful in Germany, too. And we will be the team to beat both in Europe and domestically. That will be a nice challenge.
"The core of this team can still go on for three to four years and we want to make the most of it."
