The Polish full-back is expected to miss around five months of football when he goes under the knife at the end of the seasonBorussia Dortmund defender Lukasz Piszczek will undergo hip surgery to rid himself of a long-standing problem after Saturday's Champions League final against Bayern Munich.
The Poland international has been nursing the problem for several weeks but has played through the pain barrier, with BVB competing for the European title.
However, once he undergoes the surgery, he is expected the miss around five months of action, meaning that he will be absent for the start of next season.
Piszczek endured a similar problem during his time at Hertha Berlin, forcing him out for around half a campaign.
The 27-year-old joined Signal Iduna Park in 2010 and has since become a key member of Jurgen Klopp's team, making 45 appearances in all competitions this term.
