Badstuber: Bayern can become bigger than Barcelona
The defender is optimistic about Bayern's chances in Europe in the years to come, and is hopeful of making his comeback this season
Germany international Holger Badstuber believes that Bayern Munich have the potential to become the biggest club in Europe and dethrone Barcelona as the continent's dominant force. The Bavarians have made it to the final of the Champions League twice in the past three seasons, but have not won the competition since they beat Valencia in 2001.
Nevertheless, Badstuber is hopeful that the Allianz Arena side will soon be successful in Europe again.
"Bayern can become the biggest club in Europe, even bigger than Barcelona," the defender was quoted as saying by Bild.
The 23-year-old is currently recovering from a knee injury, and has set his sights on a comeback before the end of this season.
"I am hopeful that I can play a few games for Bayern this term. That is my main objective at the moment."
Badstuber made 12 Bundesliga appearances for FCB this campaign before he got injured.
