Grosskreutz extends Borussia Dortmund stay until 2016
The attacking midfielder has opted to sign a two-year extension to his previous deal as he is thoroughly enjoying life with the Bundesliga champions
Borussia Dortmund have announced on their official website that Kevin Grosskreutz has signed a new contract with BVB until the summer of 2016.The 24-year-old's previous deal was due to expire in June 2014, but the player has now ended all speculations about hsi future by inking a two-year extension, much to the delight of sporting director Michael Zorc.
"Kevin has always been a player with a high degree of identification with Borussia Dortmund. We are delighted that we have been able to secure another important component of our team on a long-term basis," he stated.
The winger joined Dortmund from Rot Weiss Ahlen in the summer of 2009, and has since developed into an integral part of the Bundesliga champions' first team.
"I'm happy to continue playing for the Schwarzgelben. Borussia Dortmund were always my priority, and I will give everything to help the team be successful. I was, am and will always be a Borusse," Grosskreutz said.
He has made 16 Bundesliga appearances so far this term, scoring once in the process.
