Klopp: Gotze could play against Freiburg

The precocious attacking midfielder was expected to miss BVB's next league fixture but he could now feature after all, while Sven Bender looks to be unavailable
Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp is hopeful that Mario Gotze will recover from his calf injury in time to play in Saturday's Bundesliga match away against Freiburg.

The Germany international picked up the knock in BVB's 2-1 Champions League win over Real Madrid on Wednesday and it initially appeared unlikely that he would recover in time for this weekend's league game.

However, Klopp has not given up hopes that Gotze will be available just yet.

"Mario has a chance to recover in time," the Dortmund coach was quoted as saying on the club's official website.

Meanwhile, Dortmund will probably have to make do without the services of Sven Bender on Saturday due to injury.

"Manni is almost certain to be out," commented Klopp on Bender's fitness.

The match at the Mage Solar Stadion is scheduled to kick off at 15:30CET.
