The 52-year-old coach had to take the Real Madrid midfielder off at half-time during Friday's World Cup 2014 qualifier, but insists the move was made purely as a precautionJoachim Low has revealed that Sami Khedira was not seriously injured during Germany's 6-1 thrashing of the Republic of Ireland in Dublin.
The midfielder was taken off at half-time and replaced by Toni Kroos and it looked as though the 25-year-old was set for a spell on the sidelines with a strained calf muscle - only for Low to provide some reassuring news.
"I think we took him off at half-time before anything got completely broken," he told reporters after the game.
"Khedira still has a problem, but there is nothing broken. We have to wait two or three days [before we know more]."
The news will also be of relief to Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho as his side look to haul themselves back into the Liga title race following the international break.
Khedira played the full 90 minutes of their 2-2 draw with Barcelona and has made a total of five league appearances so far this season.
