The Real Madrid star has stressed that the main thing for the Euro 2008 finalists is to qualify, and is eagerly anticipating Tuesday's game against AustriaMesut Ozil has insisted that Germany are unconcerned with qualifying for the 2014 World Cup with a perfect record as long as they book their ticket for the finals.
The Nationalelf qualified for Euro 2012 with 10 victories from as many games, but the attacking midfielder has made it clear that all that matters is making it to Brazil.
"I do not really care whether we win all our qualification games again. All that matters is that we manage to qualify for the finals," Ozil was quoted as saying on the official DFB website.
"We have to remain cautious, because it will not be an easy task. Every single team wants to show what they can do when they take on Germany."
Ozil then looked ahead to the match versus Austria, and emphasised the importance of winning their second qualifier.
"We are completely focused on the game against Austria for now. It would be a big step in the right direction if we bag the full three points here."
Tuesday's encounter is scheduled to kick off at 20:30CET.
