Reus: Borussia Dortmund still have work to do
The versatile attacker was very satisfied with his goal against Thomas Schaaf's side, but feels BVB are by no means in top form just yet
Marco Reus believes that Borussia Dortmund still have room for improvement in the wake of their 2-1 win over Werder Bremen in Friday's Bundesliga opener. The Germany international was delighed to have opened the scoring against Bremen, but was quick to admit that BVB are not at the top of their game just yet.
"I don't think anybody can expect us to be at our very best from the beginning," Reus was quoted as saying on the official Dortmund website.
"We saw that we still have a great deal of work ahead of us, but it was important that we won the game.
"Of course I had dreamed of scoring on my debut and that was very important for me, but it was more important for the team. I had goosebumps and I don't think there is much more to say than that."
Dortmund resume Bundesliga action next Saturday with an away game versus Nurnberg.
