thumbnail Hello,

The German outfit's CEO has pointed out that the team have been in impressive form in their own backyard so far, while adding that the Bavarians only spend money they earn

Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is confident that his side can beat Chelsea in Saturday's Champions League final at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern can become the first team in the history of the Champions League in its current format to win the competition on home soil. And Rummenigge has sent out a warning to their English rivals by emphasising that they have won all their games so far in this year's tournament on their own turf as they prepare for Saturday's showdown.

"Bayern have won all the Champions League games at home this term, and this team are more mature than the one that lost against Inter [in 2010]," Rummenigge was quoted as saying by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The former Germany international then confirmed that former head coach Louis van Gaal, who left FCB in April 2011, but is under contract until June, will be paid a bonus if Bayern come out victorious at the weekend.

"Yes, Van Gaal will get his bonus if we win the Champions League. Just like the 430 Bayern employees."

Rummenigge then stressed that Bayern never spend any money they don't have, while adding that they prefer to promote youth players rather than splash out on expensive new signings.

"We do everything at home. We only spend the money we earn, and we promote players from our youth system."

Saturday's Champions League final kicks off at 20.45CET.
