Jurgen Klopp: DFB-Pokal clash with Bayern will be like an FA Cup final
The 44-year-old believes that the upcoming showpiece will be mouth-watering, and insists that his side are only targeting a victory against their arch-rivals
Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp has hailed the calibre of Saturday's DFB-Pokal final against Bayern Munich, comparing the match with an FA Cup final. After defeating the Bavarian giants twice in the Bundesliga during the league season, Dortmund will be looking to see off Jupp Heynckes' side to win their first Pokal crown since 1989.
"Cup finals are always special," Klopp told Goal.com. "First-placed team against second-placed team - for me, that's comparable to the FA Cup final at Wembley.
"We are in an excellent condition and we can finally win the double after 103 years. Both clubs have huge respect for each other."
Questioned about Heynckes, Klopp had only words of praise for his Bayern counterpart.
"He is a rare breed in Germany.
"He was successful as a player, and now he is so as a coach. His teams always have a plan. He is a very nice guy."
The match at Berlin's Olympiastadion kicks off at 20:00 CET.
