The Belgium international's current contract is set to run out at the end of the 2011-12 term, but FCB are looking to tie down the centre-back for another yearBayern Munich are eager to keep experienced defender Daniel Van Buyten at the club and have offered the centre-back a new contract until the summer of 2013, with an option for an additional year if he features in 25 games or more next campaign, Kicker reports.
The Belgium international's current deal is due to expire at the end of the season, but Bayern are believed to be satisfied with Van Buyten's performances and are keen to retain his services for at least another year.
Van Buyten has made 13 Bundesliga appearances this term, but has been out of action ever since he sustained a foot injury in January.
The 34-year-old joined Bayern from Hamburg in the summer of 2006 and has since made well over 150 official appearances for the Bavarians.
Van Buyten has won two Bundesliga titles as well as two DFB Pokals during his spell at the Allianz Arena.
