Pune FC are to set to the first Indian club to have played with an English Premiership side on their home turf and this is after being only a little over four seasons old.

While they were not the first choice opponents, Pune FC are certainly excited about the exhibition tie against Blackburn Rovers, owned by the Pune-based Venky’s.

Pune FC will however be without the services of Subrata Paul, the India number one and Mandjou Keita, the club’s Player of the Year.

“As a coach you will always want to have the entire squad at your disposal. Subrata and Keita are key player for us, but this provides an opportunity for the younger players to step up. I look forward to the youngsters stepping up and giving a good account of themselves”
