Friday's edition of World Cup qualifiers in Europe saw a whole host of cracking strikes across the nine groups but we have narrowed the selection down to these five absolute beauties.

First up, Borussia Dortmund pair Robert Lewandowski and Jakub Blaszczykowski worked together adeptly to put Poland into the lead in their clash with Moldova, with the latter star finishing off following the former's fine through-ball.

The second goal to feature is a rare away goal for Luxembourg, with Stefano Bensi silencing the Azerbaijan home crowd with a low, corner-of-the-net-bound shot from around 20 yards out.

For all Aleksandar Kolarov's faults, nobody has ever complained about his excellent free kicks and he adeptly put in a consolation goal for Serbia late in their clash with Belgium.

Bosnia & Herzegovina star Haris Medunjanin arguably scored the pick of the bunch with a 30-yard blaster that flew into the top corner to compound Latvian misery.

And, finally, a smart diving header from Marc Janko doubled Austria's lead en route to a 2-1 win over Sweden.
