The former Liverpool defender and Champions League winner serves up a goal for the ages in the game against Tigres as the MLS side recovered from a 1-0 first leg defeatDjimi Traore drove home a barnstorming strike from 45-yards out to fire the Seattle Sounders into the Concacaf Champions League semi-final on Tuesday night.
The MLS side were up against Mexican team Tigres and trailing 1-0 from the first leg. Despite falling behind to an early goal, Manuel Viniegra saw red before half-time and Traore and Co. recovered to eventually win 3-1 on the night.
The 33-year-old Mali international, who played a part in the legendary comeback that saw Liverpool overturn a 3-0 deficit to AC Milan to claim the Champions League mantle in 2005, has been somewhat of a mercurial talent over the course of his 16 year-career.
Indeed, before his goal against Tigres (in just his second appearance for the side), he had netted just once for his previous nine clubs.
But with such a player, the laughable lows come with moments such as these; moments of pure, unrestrained genius.
