The Brazilian coach of the Red and Gold is still undecided on the composition of his side ahead of the crucial second leg in the AFC Cup quarterfinal…
East Bengal coach Marcos Falopa believes that Semen Padang will go into the second leg of the AFC Cup quarterfinals as favourites despite trailing the tie by a goal.
The Kolkata outfit had downed the Indonesian giants last week at the Salt Lake Stadium in the first leg with a goal from Ryuji Sueoka.
“It will be a hard match for us as the rivals are favourites as they will enjoy the benefits of home conditions. We are prepared for it and will make all efforts to enter the semi-final I expect it would be an interesting match. Although we are leading 1-0 yet we are the underdogs,” he told the assembled media.
Padang will welcome back centre-back Wahyu Wijiastanto and midfielder Esteban for the second leg. Falopa mentioned that his side are well prepared going into Tuesday’s tie.
“Padang have some good players like Edward Junior Wilson and Ellie Aiboy. They will also be bolstered by the return of their Argentine midfielder Esteban. But we have made all preparations to thwart them. The first eleven would be decided tomorrow,” he said.
