The Indonesian champions will don their third kit in the all-important first leg of their quarterfinal tie...

Semen Padang have been left with little choice but to use their third kit when they face East Bengal in the first leg of the quarterfinal clash in the AFC Cup. This would be the first time they shall not don the first and second kit for their AFC Cup games this term.

"As hosts, they (East Bengal) are entitled to use their main shirt. As their first and second costumes are also red and yellow, so we have decided to wear our white kit. But it's not a problem, as with whatever costume we will still play to fight, "said media officer Ronny Suhatril Semen Padang to Goal.

The Indonesian Premier League (IPL) league leaders aren’t too concerned by the fans of East Bengal given that only 15000 tickets have been sold at the Salt lake Stadium which has a capacity of 120, 000.

“It will be a great game. We remain optimistic and try to get the maximum,” said coach Jafri Sastra.

The artificial surface could pose a problem for the visiting side but striker Edward Wilson Junior rebuffed such suggestions and mentioned, “It is not a problem as we are familiar with the synthetic field. We had more time to get adapted to the field because we came here (Kolkata) early.”
