'I am hoping that we can collect all 3 points' - Churchill Brothers coach Mariano Dias

The Goan side's coach revealed how they could be missing upto seven players due to injury and suspension. Right-back Denzil Franco though, is hopeful of a win against Warriors FC

Churchill Brothers coach Mariano Dias bemoaned the number of injuries the Red Machines have been hit by, in the build-up to the game against Warriors F.C.

The Goan side will have to do without the services of more than half a dozen first team players, including Brazilian playmaker Beto.

Dias said, “We have (several) injuries to deal with. Beto is surely out for 3 matches with a hamstring injury, we are also without Henri Antchouet, Bineesh Balan, Lenny Rodrigues and Steven Dias due to injuries. Lamine Tamba is also serving a suspension after he picked up two yellow cards in the previous two matches.”

The game against the Singapore based side is vital to Churchill Brothers’ hope of making the next round of the AFC Cup, and they would in all probability, need to win the game in order to have a decent chance of qualifying out of the Group.

Dias also stressed on that fact, and stated, “Every match is important for us, we cannot take any match lightly. The boys will go out there and give their best and I am hoping that we can collect all 3 points.”

Right-back Denzil Franco also felt it would be a difficult game, and the heat could prove to be the spoilsport.

“The heat is unbearable. It is not easy to perform (in such conditions). This time, it’s a much more difficult task, as we have a young team, due to injuries.”

The Indian International though, was still confident that his side would give a good account of themselves.

He mentioned, “We believe in each other and will give our best and let’s hope for 3 points.”
