Semen Padang held on for a point against Churchill Brothers in a 2-2 draw, which took them to 4 points from 2 games.
Jafri Sastrak, the coach of the Indonesian side, was content with the final outcome, and commented, “We had a good game overall. We targeted three points and are happy to go back with a point.”
Giving his views on the game, the Semen Padang coach marked out Sunil Chhetri and Beto as the most dangerous players from Churchill Brothers. He said, “I thought their two players upfront, Beto and Chhetri were very good during the game.’
Sastrak looked forward to his side’s hopes of qualifying to the next round, while commenting on the conditions under which the game was played. He opined, “Well I think with 4 points so far, we have a good chance of qualifying.”
“We are content with the result. The experience of India has been incredible for us, though it is very hot! Obviously, we would have liked to play under floodlights, but we are fine with playing during the day too,” he further added.
The game was marred with an injury to their keeper Jandia Eka Putra, who suffered a concussion after crashing into Beto, leading to the player being rushed to the hospital.
Giving an update regarding the custodian’s present condition, the Indonesian side’s coach revealed, “The goalkeeper is awake now. He is still suffering from concussion though, and cannot remember the whole game.”
