The Brazilian exuded confidence ahead of their continental tie against the Indonesian champions on Tuesday...
Churchill Brothers face Indonesia's Semen Padang in their second group E game in the AFC Cup at the Balewadi Sports Complex, Pune on Tuesday.
The Red Machines coach Mariano Dias conceded the fact that they aren't aware of their opponent’s style of play. But he also stressed on the fact that the team has done good homework by accessing all available media reports of Semen Padang FC.
Churchill aren't playing the game in Goa as the stadium in their state doesn't meet the Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) criterion and hence their home matches will be played in Pune.
“Yes, the travelling is very hectic and it does take its toll on our players. However that is part of football and we must deal with it in a positive way and go out there and try to win the match," said Dias.
“The AFC Cup provides our players with the opportunity to improve their game by playing against good foreign sides," remarked the coach.
Roberto de Silva, better known as Beto, looked confident before their first home clash as he hopes for an Indian club to win the competition.
“It is my dream and a huge challenge to win the AFC Cup for an Indian side. Although we lost the first match, I am confident that our team will play a better game and hopefully snatch all three points.”
With Indian national team skipper Sunil Chhetri being added on the roster, Beto is looking forward to strike a successful partnership with him. "This is not the first time we are playing together. We have played at Mohun Bagan, and also at Dempo, I am sure we will combine well and help our team get all three points," he said.
