The Japanese coach opined that their oppositions would take a huge risk if they take Bhutan for granted…
Bhutan coach Kazunori Ohara admitted that they haven’t had the best of preparations for the SAFF Championship in Nepal but promised that his side will put their best foot forward in the tournament.
”We prepared only for 2 weeks. Most of the players joined directly from club as they were busy in the Kings Cup,” he said.
Bhutan are placed alongside Afghanistan, Maldives and Sri Lanka in group B. Ohara acknowledged that they are being termed as the ‘minnows’ of the tournament but backed his side to come up with the goods to ‘surprise’ their opponents.
“We are not so strong but I want to surprise other countries participating,” he responded when asked on the chances of his team winning the SAFF Championship.
While not many have backed Bhutan to triumph in the competition which means that there wouldn’t be a burden of expectations upon them.
Yes, we will play more freely. Everyone says we are not strong. We have a chance to win.”
