SAFF Championship: India’s Sunil Chhetri Wins The Most Valuable Player Of The Tournament

India’s Sunil Chhetri won the "Most Valuable Player" award for guiding the Men in Blue to go on win their sixth SAFF Championship title.

The India number 11 scored seven goals, two from the spot-kick, to go on to become the top scorer beating Afghanistan’s Balal Arezou who ended up with six.

The Delhi lad was also awarded the Fair Play award for being the most disciplined player on the pitch throughout the tournament.

Meanwhile Afghanistan, the runners-up of the tournament, were awarded 25000 USD as part of their prize money.

Apart from the 50000 USD in their purse, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) president Praful Patel announced an addition 1, 00, 000 INR each member of the Indian squad.
