Savio Medeira is looking ahead to the SAFF Championship final as India are to face Afghanistan on December 11 with the bragging rights of being the best in the South-East Asian region at stake.
India played Afghanistan in their tournament opener which ended in a 1-1 draw with the opponents having more chances towards the end to go on and win the match.
“They (Afghanistan) have improved since the time we played them. And so have we given the way we have played as well.
“I think it will be a good match between us.
“We need to prepare for the finals in the same manner like we did before for the other matches,” Medeira told Goal.com.
The Goan has given a day off to his wards as he preferred rest over another training session on Saturday so that his team remains fresh for the finals.
“Yes, that’s the idea. They are a good side and their number 16 (Djelaludin Sharityar) is a very good defender. He doesn’t let players get past him.”
