Praful Patel Congratulates U-23 Side On SAFF Triumph

Congratulations keep pouring in....

India's U-23 side regained the SAFF Cup on Sunday evening, riding on Arindam Bhattacharya's heroics to thwart Maldives 3-1 on penalties after a goalless 120 minutes.

The AIFF president, Mr.Praful Patel has send out a congratulatory message to the victorious Indian U-23 team. He acknowledged the efforts put in by the team including the support staff along with the coach, Sukhwinder Singh.

The AIFF official site has published his message which says that Mr. Patel congratulated "the players ,support staff and SAFF team coach Sukhvinder Singh on India U-23 team winning the SAFF Championship defeating holders Maldives in the Finals at Bangbandhu National Stadium , Dhaka on Sunday."

He also announced that a ‘special incentive’ will be given to the players for winning the tournament. India won the 2009 SAFF Cup by beating defending champions Maldives 3-1 in a penalty shootout.
