The 20 member squad has been announced for the SAFF Cup which is scheduled to start from Thursday in Dhaka, Bangladesh and coach Sukhwinder Singh believes that his team has what it takes to do well in the South Asian tournament.

"We are a young team but it doesn't look that the tournament is out of our reach as well. If the boys perform they way we expect them to and what they have showed in the camp, then we can get good results," said the former JCT coach.

SAFF Cup is probably one of the only tournaments in the world, where India is considered favourites or a top seed in tennis language, But Sukhwinder feels that playing against neighbouring countries isn't all that easy as well.

"This tournament is always tough as the teams are motivated when playing against their fellow neighbours. We have had a good camp with no injury worries and I'm pleased with what has happened so far," he stated.

India have Nepal, Maldives and Afghanistan in their group and Sukhwinder refuses to term any side as favourites or an underdog so to say.

"In modern football, there are no underdogs. How many times have we seen an unknown team surprising the best side? On a particular day, it can be anyone's game. We don't have much knowledge about our opponents but shall look forward and remain optimistic," said Sukwhinder on a parting note.
