India have fallen 6 places in the last month to be demoted from 143rd to the 149th spot in the FIFA rankings and have also lost 3 places in the continent to feature at the 25th spot.

The Men in Blue have suffered from not playing at all since their 1-0 defeat to Mayanmar (155) last month. India are ranked above Bangladesh (154), Pakistan (168), Sri Lanka (172) and Nepal (171) among the teams from the sub-continent.

The national team don't have any immediate fixtures lined up but will be in action once again when they take on Malaysia (164) in a friendly in September before taking part in the SAFF Championships. There have been talks of organizing another friendly in June but nothing has been finalised yet.

Japan are the highest Asian ranked nation at 29th spot followed by South Korea at 42 and Australia at 46.
