It was a perfect start for India as Jayananda Singh broke the deadlock early by placing the ball into the net from a corner-kick. India doubled their lead 9 minutes later when Prosenjit Chakraborty scored his first goal and the team's second.
In the 20th minute, Jerry Lalrinzuala scored from an indirect free-kick that was taken from the edge of the box. Prosenjit completed his brace in the 31st minute and gave India a four-goal cushion to rest on.
Bedaswor Singh, who provided the assist for the first goal, added his name on the score sheet by scoring the fifth.
Bhutan did manage to pull one back through Yoesel Dorji four minutes before the break.
The second half saw India continue to dominate the proccedings as Bedaswor Singh netted his second goal as he headed home a cross by Njiwm Muchahari in the 47th minute.
Substitute Edmund Lalrindika scored in the 74th minute to make it 7-1. In the very next minute, Nuruddin found the back of the net.
It was arguably India's best performance in the qualifiers as they converted the chances that came their way after having bossed the game from the onset.
India next face Kuwait on Sunday.
