Indian National Team: I Want To Win Five Trophies Before I Retire – Indian Skipper Bhaichung Bhutia
Retirement not at option for the Captain.......
By Rahul Sengupta
Dr.Tirthankar Choudhury, who was monitoring the Indian skipper's medication, informed that the Sikkimese Sniper was fit to return to the training field.
“Bhaichung had come to me four years back when he returned from Kazakhstan. I had diagnosed him with Thyroid and he had lost a lot of weight. I had kept him under observation back then.
“The same old problem returned this time too. It happened because Thyroid is a gland and its secretion increases with high amount of Iodine and as Bhaichung was staying near the sea and eating sea food he fell prey for it,” added the Doctor.
The former Mohun Bagan striker has started training and speaking on his health he stated,“I have blind faith on Dr.Choudhury. When I felt that I lost weight in Portugal I immediately decided to fly back to Kolkata on my own just to attend his treatment.”
There have been rumuors all around suggesting that Bhaichung might announce his retirement from club football post the 2011 Asian Cup. Rubbishing such gossip, Bhutia said, “I will first announce retirement from Indian team and then from club football. But the last time I took treatment from Dr. Choudhury was four years back after which I went on to win three major trophies (with the national team). This time round I want to win five trophies and only then retirement can be given a thought.”
Bhaichung was to join the national team camp in Portugal on Wednesday but could not do so due to personal reasons.
“My son is now hospitalized. He will be discharged on Sunday and I shall fly off to Portugal on the 9th of August.”
