National Team Players Express Shock Over Mahesh Gawli And Samir Naik Decision
The country's national team players have come to the defence of the suspended duo....
The national football team players have written a letter signed by all players to the AIFF President, Mr. Praful Patel. The letter was with regard to widespread media reports of the AIFF’s suspension of Mr. Sameer Naik and Mr. Mahesh Gawli.
Both players were keen and committed to join the national camp at Goa but were denied permission by their club.
The players expressed shock and distress at the disgraceful and unjustified decision against both these senior players who have each served the country with utmost sincerity and commitment for over a decade.
The AIFF’s decision does not address the root issues with clubs and simply makes easy targets of the players. They have requested Mr. Patel to look into the matter and trust that he would deliver a just decision that would not send the wrong message to current and future players of the country.
The players also expressed their hope for decisions that are fair to players under Mr. Patel’s leadership.
