AIFF General Secretary Alberto Colaco said, “It is a very serious matter and thus the emergency committee has decided to place this matter into the hands of the Disciplinary Committee to decide upon the further course of action to be taken.
"For the time being, both the players remain suspended and they cannot take part in any football tournament till we arrive at a final decision.
“The Disciplinary Committee shall also decide before the Federation Cup about the kind of action that we shall be taking against Dempo SC.”
Country versus club has always been a classic standoff in India ever since Bob Houghton’s arrival in the scene.
Posting a strong message to the media, AIFF President Mr. Praful Patel said, “It is a warning sign for the clubs as well as the players. This decision was taken to send out a message that in no manner can we allow any player to miss the national camp.”
