The All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) has summoned for the technical committee to meet on the 20th of this month. Ahead of the Annual General Meeting of the Indian FA, the technical committee would meet in order to discuss several issues concerning the national team and the calendar for the next year. The committee last met in the third week of August to discuss the ifs and buts of the proposed Goal 2011 project.

Following the Nehru Cup triumph, which completed a hat-trick of titles for India under Bob Houghton, the Englishman went on to state that he would prefer to take youngsters in the upcoming SAFF Cup to be held in Bangladesh in December.

“I think we should send a team without some senior players,” Houghton was quoted saying.

However, whether others in the technical committee are willing to heed to the above thought is another matter.

It will certainly be interesting to note the approach of the Indian FA towards the SAFF Cup given that the AIFF general secretary, Alberto Colaco holds the position of SAFF general secretary.

The new technical committee has retained all its members, namely Pradeep Choudhary, Inder Singh, C Vishwanathan, Mohammed Habib, with the sole exception of Mahindra United general secretary, Henry Menezes, who is replaced by Brahmanand Shankwalkar.
