Player Ratings: Mallorca 1-4 Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo steals the show in a game of two halves at the ONO Stadi...

Dudu Aouate - 7: Made a number of good saves but was eventually over-run by Ronaldo's excellent finishing.
Josemi - 5:
After a good first half he was run ragged in the second half and fortunate not to concede a penalty late on.

Ruben - 5.5: His performance was emblematic of the whole team. Organised, intense first half turned sloppy after the break.

Nunes - 6: Made some vital last ditch interceptions and was solid aerially but made something of a howler for Ronaldo's third goal.

Ayoze - 4.5: Ramos overlapping gave him to much to do and stretched the Mallorca defence to leave holes which Ronaldo and Higuain were able to expose.

Marti - 5:  Tidy first 45 minutes but he, like almost the whole Mallorca team, was non-existent after the break and was inevitably replaced.

Julio Alvarez - 6:
Commanding first half set him up to be a man of the match contender but he was blown away by Madrid in the second half.

Gonzalo Castro - 6.5: A real thorn in the side of Madrid in the first half. Had a goal wrongly disallowed and had Ramos on the back foot for much of the first half. Tried after the break but he was fighting a lonely battle as the rest of his team failed to turn up.

Borja Valero - 6: Probably the busiest player on the pitch in the first half. Disappeared completely for the second.

Aritz Aduriz - 6: Took his goal well and gave Madrid a bit to do in the first half but very average showing otherwise.

Victor - 6: Put himself about for a while and assisted for the goal but saw little of the ball and was replaced on the hour mark.

Mario Suarez - 5: Manzano's double substitution failed to pay off and this guy never got into it.

Alhassane Keita - 5: Had one decent opportunity to do something but needlessly strayed offside.

Pierre Webo - 4.5: Failed to get involved at all.

Iker Casillas - 8.5: When Madrid needed him he was top class. Made a number of vital saves as Mallorca dominated in the first half. Could have brought an armchair and newspaper out for the second half.

Sergio Ramos - 8: Slowly got into an attacking rhythm. Castro gave him work to do in the first half but after the break Ramos was a key instigator of attacks for los Merengues

Ezequiel Garay - 7: Improved after the break but was guilty of lapses in concentration that allowed Castro and Aduriz to get sights at goal.

Raul Albiol - 7.5: Out-muscled by Victor aerially for much of the first half but got to grips with the game. Madrid dominated midfield and he had a quiet second half.

Alvaro Arbeloa - 7: Caught out of position a couple of times in the first half but improved as the game wore on.

Xabi Alonso - 8: Guilty of some slack marking at times from set pieces but his passing was as good as ever. Controlled the game for the second 45.

Fernando Gago - 6: Never really got to grips with the game and was a weak link for the first half but when Madrid got on top he was tidy in possession.

Esteban Granero - 7: Never short on effort but sometimes makes some senseless decisions. He needs to show greater confidence in his own ability.

Kaka - 5.5: Nowhere near as influential as he can be, guilty of some wayward passing. Still a bit to go to find his fitness.

Cristiano Ronaldo - 10: Virtually won the game on his own with a magnificent one man show. He kept the Merengues in it in the first half with a brave finish against Aouate when Madrid were second best, clinically finished the second and bulldozed his way through for the third goal. His first half was quite good, his second half was brilliant as he continually led the charge, very often starting a move from a defensive position. He should have had a late penalty and an inevitable fourth goal after Josemi's challenge but you can take nothing away from him tonight, perfect display.

Gonzalo Higuain - 7: Took his goal with a sublime finish but otherwise his performance was below par. Passing was poor, vision was ordinary and his finishing other than the goal was well below his own standards.

Guti - 6.5: Got involved but looked a little laboured on the ball at times. Neat, accurate passing as always.

Mahamadou Diarra - 6: Easy job when his side had complete control of the game.

Karim Benzema - 6.5: Looked willing and confident in the brief period he was on.
