It won't necessarily be the best player in the world - at least not
usually - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. It
might be for a particularly awesome performance or for something
praiseworthy off the pitch - either way, the person in question
deserves special attention...
Goal.com World Player of the Week #30: Ivica Olic
Club: Bayern Munich
Country: Croatia
Age: 30
Role: Forward
Achievement: Helping FC Hollywood progress to the knock-out stages of the Champions League and put in another tireless performance as the club won at the weekend.
After a poor start to the season, Bayern Munich are now up and running. Their recent excellent form has been thanks, in no small part, to the efforts of a new strike-partnership, dubbed 'Golic' in the German press.
Mario Gomez and Ivica Olic both joined the club over the summer but as a result of form and fitness had their respective impacts severely curtailed throughout the autumn.
However, FCB have hit the ground running in recent weeks, with Louis van Gaal's side qualified for the Champions League knock-out phase and back competing for the Bundesliga title.
Last Tuesday, the Bavarians inflicted a 4-1 defeat on Juventus in Turin, with Olic's strong running and predatory finishing a key aspect to the win.
The tireless forward reeled off another two strikes over the weekend as Bayern hit rudderless Bochum for five away from home.
Expect Bayern to push hard for the Bundesliga title this season and also to make an impact in Europe. If they do, a lot will depend on the Croatian's workrate.

The former Hamburg midfielder netted a hat-trick as Hilal ousted arch rivals Al Ittihad, 5-0, to become the name on the lips of every Saudi football fan.
Fabrizio Miccoli - Palermo & Italy
Rosanero captain Miccoli lit up San Siro with an outstanding display as Palermo defeated Milan, 2-0. The striker, a former Milan youth-team member, scored a fine individual first before helping to assist Mark Bresciano's clincher with an outrageous piece of skill and solo run.
Arindam Bhattacharya - Churchill Brothers & India Under 23
The 20-year-old goalkeeper helped India U-23 win the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Cup against defending champions Maldives over the weekend. His penalty saves and alertness throughout the tournament were instrumental in making India the South Asian champions.
Katlego Mphela - Mamelodi Sundowns & South Africa
The Bafana striker got on the score sheet yet again, handing his side a 3-0 away win over Amazulu in the South African PSL. Mphela has been in incredible form and he deserves to be honoured once again this weekend, adding more goals to his tally to make it 15 for the season.
