Nehru Cup: Nehru Cup Truimph Will Inspire Indians - Indian PM
While the Indian sports minister had ridiculed Bhaichung and company a few months ago, the Prime Minister of India has congratulated the same boys for bringing happy days back in Indian football...
With this, India now has completed a hat-trick of titles in the last three years, which surely is a good sign for football in the country.
Dr.Manmohan Singh said, “Congratulations on your remarkable win last evening. It was a magnificent performance and the whole country is proud of you. The victory, I am sure, will inspire sports men and women across the country.”
Not often do you hear politicians congratulating Team India as they were never praised in the previous two triumphs of the AFC Challenge Cup 2008 and the Nehru Cup 2007.
Things are surely changing for good in Indian football.
