Here, it was Paul all the way. He had already saved one penalty in the tournament so far (in the crucial match against Kyrgyzstan which India won 2-1). His calm demeanour under intense pressure was to be seen to be believed. He proved more than a match for the favoured Syrians who had beaten India in the league stage. On Monday, they once again finished runners-up, just like they did in 2007.
