'The sensation of the weekend' - Goal's World Player of the Week Domenico Berardi

World Player of the Week
Domenico Berardi
AGE 19
PLAYS FOR Sassuolo

Genoa 4-3 Sassuolo
Sassuolo 4-3 AC Milan

A star was born on Sunday as Sassuolo and an inspired Domenico Berardi effectively brought an end to Massimiliano Allegri's reign at AC Milan with a 4-3 win over the fallen giant of Serie A.

The 19-year-old now has more league goals, 11, than any other teenager in Europe's top five divisions and should his form continue, he may well sneak on to Cesare Prandelli's plane to Brazil with Italy this summer.

Goal's Federico Casotti said: "The youngster was the sensation of the weekend after scoring four goals in historical Sassuolo’s victory against AC Milan.

"No player in Serie A history had ever scored four goals against AC Milan in a single game. He scored four times, showing his main skills: speed, finishing and a cultured left foot.

"As you maybe already know, he’s in co-ownership between Sassuolo and Juventus, but he’ll surely move to Turin at the end of the season. Today he was rewarded for his recent form with a call-up to the Italy Under-21 side."

Congratulations to Domenico Berardi, Goal's 243rd World Player of the Week winner!
