A first half brace from the Bengaluru's captain earned them another three points at home...Welcome to Goal's new I-League feature: Top and Flop. For every game, a candidate will be put forward, as chosen by Goal, who deserves recognition for achieving something special. It won't necessarily be the best player in the league - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. In the same vein, we will also name a player whose performance wasn’t up to the mark on the given day and eventually came to hurt his side.
|TOP: SUNIL CHHETRI
The Indian national team skipper has been working consistently well in the attacking third and scored both the goals against Shillong Lajong to give his side a 2-1 victory on Sunday. After a quick one-two with Robin Singh, Chhetri scored the first goal and was unlucky to see his header crash off the post later. He converted from the spot too to double the home team's advantage.
|FLOP: SUBHASH SINGH
Lajong, too, had a fair number of chances, but Subhash Singh didn't combine well with his strike partner Cornell Glen as much as he should have. As such, Glen was left without any support while the Manipuri striker was erratic with his shooting.
