Bundesliga Team of the Week: Five-star Reus makes fifth appearance
Goal.com selects the best performers from the German top flight as the Borussia Dortmund man scored all three of his side's goals against Frankfurt
While a miracle would be required to keep Bayern Munich from reclaiming their Bundesliga title this season, Germany's top flight still plays host to weekend after weekend of entertaining action. The Bavarians, Dortmund, Hamburg and Leverkusen all recorded impressive wins, and are all represented in Goal.com's Team of the Week.Greuther Furth have not had much to cheer about in their debut top-flight season, but Wolfgang Hesl's performance during the 1-0 loss to Fortuna Dusseldorf will have given fans some real encouragement, despite the eventual result.
At the back, Mats Hummels put his midweek defensive lapse behind him as Dortmund beat Frankfurt 3-0, Georg Niedermeier was a rock as Stuttgart ended their poor run of form at Hoffenheim, and Slobodan Rajkovic vindicated Thorsten Fink's decision to bring him back into the first team with an excellent showing against Gladbach.
Three midfielders make their first appearances of the season in our XI. Daniel Caligiuri was on target for Freiburg against Werder Bremen, Ibrahima Traore was another one of Stuttgart's stars, while Michel Bastos continued his assured start to Bundesliga football with two goals for Schalke at Mainz. Bastian Schweinsteiger completes the quartet following his masterful showing in the middle for Bayern at Wolfsburg.
Three of the divisions form strikers make up the front line. Mario Mandzukic scored a spectacular overhead-kick for Bayern against his old club, Stefan Kiessling scored yet against for Leverkusen, and Marco Reus was the star of the weekend, netting a hat-trick for Dortmund.
