thumbnail Hello,

With Arsenal stuttering and Bayern cruising to yet another win, Goal.com asks the fans what the outcome will be when these two sides meet in their Champions League this week..

One side attempting to regain their place as one of the top sides in the Premier League and the other hoping to erase the memories of a heartbreaking defeat in a cup final. Goal.com asks fans what they think would happen when Arsene Wenger's side take on the might of Bayern Munich at the Emirates Stadium in the Champions League Round of 16.

No doubt Bayern are on fire this year. Looks like last year’s Champions League slip away has hurt them all for the right reasons and they are all prepared to make sure nothing comes between them and the trophy this year, Mandzukic has been on the go and superbly supported by Muller, Kroos and Schweinsteiger.

Mario Gomez is also coming back in form after his injury. Arsenal have not been the best and struggled after the departure of van Persie, Never the less you can never take them for granted. Walcott , Podolski and Crazola can always spring up surprises. I will still I am "gunning" for a Bayern will win, and let us hope for that !!!

After their recent FA cup exit at home against Blackburn, Arsenal need to considerably improve their game to beat last years losing finalists. They will have to play out of their skins if they are to stand any chance to beat the rampant Germans.

Bayern on the other hand have been effective so far both in Germany and Europe. They look good enough to overcome the English challenge with ease. I therefore am going for a 2-0 win to the Germans.

This tie has a tennis score written all over it. Arsenal have not had the best of seasons and this will prove to be their downfall against Bayern Munich. Fans might point out to the 3-0 win over AC Milan last year, but having lost Van Persie to United, I don't see a chance for the Gunners to progress.

Bayern are just too clinical and too solid defensively to let Arsenal score past them. I feel this would be the end of the Champions League campaign. I predict that the Germans will wipe the floor with the Gunners. A 3-0 win to Bayern.

I predict a 2-1 victory for Bayern Munich. Looking at the current form of these two teams, I doubt if Arsenal has the composure at the back to defend against Bayern's fire power. Arsenal's strikers have hit rich form in recent matches, but I don't see them scoring more than one goal against the water tight Bayern defence.

With Mandzukic in prime form, it will be hard for the Arsenal defence who are just a mistake away from disaster. That being said Arsenal will look to put up a fight, but it just won't be enough to beat Bayern.

As with any Champions League knockout round, both teams have a fair chance of progression, but there are a number of factors that are potentially decisive.

The return of Javi Martinez will be a boost for Bayern and he along with Bastian Schweinsteiger and Robben will cause some serious problems for Arsenal in the midfield. Whereas Arsenal after the shocking 1-0 defeat by Blackburn Rovers in the recent FA Cup clash will be fresh in their minds and they will be under tremendous pressure from the start of the game. But with the likes of Santi Cazorla, Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere in their ranks, this team can not be underestimated and are capable of turning any team down at Emirates.

For the North London club to break Bayern’s defence (strengthened by their fantastic form), it is going to take star turns from several key players.

Going for a Bayern win with a 4-2 Aggregate.

As an Arsenal fan it pains me to write this but I believe Bayern will clinch the tie 1-2. I believe it will be a close match with a lot of attractive football on display thanks to the attacking prowess of both sides. Arsenal's defense is a little shaky and will find it tough to cope wit the likes of the in-form Mario Mandzukic, Thomas Muller, Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery. Even in the midfield, I fear Arsenal will lose the physical battle with Javi Martinez returning from injury.

Jack Wilshere will be key for Arsenal. The disappointment of the FA Cup exit will surely spur Cazorla, Wilshere, Walcott and co. on and I believe Arsenal will end Bayern's run of clean sheets. As we have seen in the past (Arsenal 3 AC Milan 0) Arsenal are capable of producing magic at the emirates on Champions League nights when under pressure.. And right now, the pressure is on big time!

I guess it’s gonna be a close encounter, but it's Bayern written all over this tie. Still I do feel Arsenal is going to give them some tense moments over 180 minutes. The very recent FA Cup exit has seen Gunners fans staring at the possibility of another season with no titles which should add up to make this tie somewhat interesting. Bayern look clinical at whatever they do. They have dominated the Bundesliga and seem to be on the road to avenging last year’s Champions League loss to Chelsea.

There will be many an individual battle. But I feel that the Germans are just too strong in every area of the pitch for Arsenal to trouble them in any way

In short maybe the only way for Arsenal to make something out of it would be to come all guns blazing at the Emirates and give Bayern a taste of their own medicine, for me it looks more like Bayern taking it easily with a 1-2 win at Emirates and a clear cut win at their home.
