Schurrle, Diego, Jurado & the Bundesliga stars who could leave their clubs this summer

As the 2012-13 campaign draws ever closer, Goal.com takes a look at some of the top names in Germany who may be changing teams before the transfer window closes

ANALYSIS
By Clark Whitney | German Football Editor

The wait is almost over. After a summer lengthened by the European Championship, the 2012-13 club season is just a few weeks away. The new campaign will present a fresh start for teams and players alike - and already, many sides have made moves for key players.

While stars like Lukas Podolski, Marco Reus, and Shinji Kagawa have already completed transfers, there remain many others who could change clubs before the transfer window closes. And, as usual, Goal.com will provide all the latest news on potential and completed transfers.

Ahead of all that action, we look at some of the stars from the Bundesliga who could be on the move between now and summer's end.

Chance of leaving this summer 85%

Despite suggestions to the contrary from both parties, it appears that the relationship between Diego and Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath is beyond repair. The Brazilian's exile to the reserves eventually led to his loan to Atletico Madrid and, after returning, he is seeking a new locale to ply his trade. Wolfsburg, too, are eager to let Diego go, but only if a substantial offer is tabled.

Flamengo were interested in a loan, with die Wolfe obliged to pay half the player's wages. The German club refused, and the link has since appeared to dissolve. There are other possible destinations for the ex-Juventus man - most notably, Lokomotiv Moscow. As it stands, Magath is aiming for a conclusion to the Diego saga as soon as possible, having set the end of July as a target to settle the player's future.

Chance of leaving this summer 40%

Holtby was a regular starter at Schalke last season but, with his international career having stalled, he could be interested in a fresh start elsewhere. Liverpool are considering him as a transfer target, and the midfielder, whose father hails from England, recently revealed he intends to play in the Premier League at some point in his career.

The player's agent insists, however, that there are no negotiations underway as of yet, but Holtby's recent statements suggest he could be angling for a move - especially with his contract set to expire next summer. He could leave early, but only if the price is right.

JOSE MANUEL JURADO | Schalke, Midfielder, 26

TRANSFER FILE
Transfer value €6m
Interested clubs Atletico Madrid, Inter
Chance of leaving this summer 80%

Jurado arrived from Atletico Madrid with high expectations but, in two seasons at Schalke, has struggled even to earn consistent playing time. S04 have an abundance of alternatives in his position, and earlier in the summer appeared keen to sell him. However, sporting director Horst Heldt recently challenged Jurado to fight for his chances as long as he is at Schalke.

But with the player dissatisfied with his limited minutes and the club having little need for him, Jurado is likely to leave. Atletico and Schalke agreed to the terms of a transfer, but the Spanish side's unwillingness to pay his wages seems to have derailed a deal. Inter were also interested recently, along with Malaga - all that is standing in the way of a move is a concrete offer.

ANDRE SCHURRLE | Leverkusen, Forward, 21

TRANSFER FILE
Transfer value €20m
Interested clubs Chelsea
Chance of leaving this summer 10%

Chelsea first showed their interest in Schurrle a year ago, and Leverkusen president Wolfgang Holzhauser recently revealed that his club rejected an offer of €20m from the Blues. The Germany international is a key player for B04, and with his contract set to expire in 2016, the club are in a strong negotiating position.

On the other hand, Chelsea have a new boost of prestige and cash following their triumph in the Champions League final. Should they increase their offer, Leverkusen might find it too good an opportunity to pass on.

GOKHAN TORE | Hamburg, Midfielder, 20

TRANSFER FILE
Transfer value €5m
Interested clubs Rubin Kazan, Galatasaray
Chance of leaving this summer 95%

The Germany-born Turkey international made a strong start to his career at Hamburg last season, but his form eventually waned, and with coach Thorsten Fink dissatisfied with his attitude in training, HSV are now looking to offload the 20-year-old.

Galatasaray were linked with Tore in January, but Rubin Kazan have recently emerged as front-runners to sign the former Chelsea man. A delegation from the Russian club visited Hamburg last week to discuss a move, but nevertheless HSV are believed to be willing to accept an offer of €5m to release the attacker from his contract, which expires in 2014.
