It did not take until the end of the season for Borussia Dortmund to assert themselves as the best in the German Bundesliga this season after their 2-0 win over Borussia Moenchengladbach last weekend.

The points accumulated by Dortmund can no longer be pursued by any team that compete in the two matchdays remaining in the Bundesliga this season. Dortmund now pocketed 75 points, eight points ahead of Bayern Munich, to claim their seventh Bundesliga title since the beginning of the German league in 1903.

This number however is not comparable with the collection of Bayern, who have won the championship a record 22 times, but Dortmund's success can be measured in terms of their domination over the Bavarian club in last two straight seasons.
